A MAN has been fined £500 for resisting officers who found him walking drunk in the middle of the A85.
Roy English, 41, of 61 Hillhead Crescent, Hamilton, admitted struggling violently with two police officers, and then running at them, on the A85 near Dalmally on September 3, 2016. He also pleaded guilty to acting aggressively and uttering threats of violence en route to Oban police station.
Procurator fiscal Eoin McGinty told Oban Sheriff Court on Tuesday April 25 that English was seen at 8.20pm that night ‘clearly under the influence’ walking in the centre of the road. ‘There were no street lights,’ Mr McGinty added. ‘He was extremely aggressive and began to shout and swear at police.
