You might have heard teachers say they’re inding their voice as a teacher or come across articles about inding your own teaching style. This can make a teacher feel as if there is something missing in their teaching, or worse, make them feel they need to fake a style or personality when teaching, such as ‘ass-kicking motivator’ or ‘spiritual-disciple’ or whatever it might be just to stand out fr om the cr owd.
One’s ‘voice’ as a teacher is simply who we actually ar e, what we really care about, and our ar eas of sensitivity and skill. Devel oping this isn’t something we can necessarily forcefully cultivate. The natural development of one’s teaching style is something that one grows into almost without knowing or realising.
