Lenses with large maximum apertures, such as f/1.8 and f/1.4 are the order of the day (or rather night) when it comes to taking low-light photos. The more light that
you can let into the camera’s sensor, the faster your shutter speeds can be, making it easier to get sharper handheld shots. You’ll also be able to put off pushing th e ISO to very high
levels until it starts to get really dark outside.
