Editor’s Note
EVERY CITY has at least one go-to venue for book launches and reading series. During the busy spring and fall publishing seasons, diehard readers and industry reps can end up at the same familiar bars, cafés, and theatres several times a week. Many frequently complain about how far the venue is from their office, the temperature of the room, or maybe the price of a pint of beer. But for people with disabilities, some of those spaces provide much bigger challenges: doorway sizes, entrance steps, and basement washrooms are just a few issues that can prohibit someone from being able to attend a launch.
