TRANSPORT for London’s funding deal with the Government, which was due to expire on May 18, was extended for a further 10 days at the last moment as negotiations on the details of a longer-term funding settlement continued.
The £65 million top-up grant allowed the capital’s transport network to continue operating until May 28 on the same terms, as rumours circulated that more of the London area commuter rail network could be transferred to TfL control.
