TO mark the 75th anniversary of the ‘Tees-Tyne Pullman’, The Railway Magazine has joined forces with Pathfinder Tours to run a recreation of the 1970s service, raising money for charity with a train that will use blue and grey Mk.2 carriages very similar to those used around 50 years ago.
‘Our’ train on Wednesday, September 27 will be hauled by the Deltic Preservation Society’s No. 55009 Alycidon (subject to availability), so expect an exhilarating run and speeds in the upper-90s, plus over 500 miles of haulage behind a locomotive synonymous with the East Coast route. To ensure you have a souvenir of the memorable day, a photo stop is planned.
