You had to make a bit of an effort to go viral in the Sixties, but Suzuki managed it by hiring racing hotshots Stirling Moss and Mitsuo Ito (he raced bikes for the company) to drive the firm’s Fronte SS hatchback down the Autostrada del Sol between Milan and Naples as quickly as possible. They got to Rome in 4.5 hours and completed the whole route at an average speed of 75mph, generating a buzz that spread across the world.
