Margutti Tro phy the neverending story

In a racing calendar increasingly full of races, the Trophy that recalls the memory of the never forgotten Roman driver, this year at its 31st edition, confirms being one of the drivers’ most beloved races: here’s why
Jarno Trulli and Giancarlo Fisichella in action in Parma. Unlike the Roman driver, Trulli was unable to forge his name in the Margutti palmares. On the right page, the podium of the first edition held in the 1990s at the Pista d’Oro with Fischella, Orsini and Crinelli. Below, Andrea Margutti (97).

This year there were over 250 registered drivers for the 31st edition of the Trofeo Andrea Margutti, one of the drivers’ most-loved classics of the beginning of the season, a race scheduled from February 28th to March 1st in Lonato, but was, alas, postponed to a later date due to the “Corona Virus” emergency in Lombardia. The international race in memory of the late Roman driver, in an ever more dense calendar of races - both titled and otherwise - does not lose its luster despite the years and is confirmed as the longest- running event in memory of an athlete ever, second only to the Trofeo delle Industrie which in two years will reach its 50th edition.
