New PCB boss steps back into the breach

In an exclusive interview, Najam Sethi tells William Dobson why he’s returning to the chairmanship of the Pakistan Cricket Board WILLIAM DOBSON

The first time I met Najam Sethi was in March 2022, at a dinner party in Lahore. By way of introduction, Sethi took a long sip of his drink, chuckled and told his audience that he was taking an evening off from bringing down Imran Khan’s government.

There’s a warmth to Sethi which belies his seriousness. He’s quick to laugh and, when he does, he does so deeply and with ease. Two days after our meeting, a vote of no confidence removed Khan from power.
