More and more runners are challenging themselves over the long distances of ultra marathons these days, and as more runners take them on, the perception of who can complete an ultra distance race is changing.
While men still make up the majority of sign-ups for distances over 26.2 miles, the number of women taking part is steadily growing and we are making a name for ourselves as endurance champions. The idea that these races are only for elite, super-fast runners is fading away too.
