Hello!
Let’s talk about marathons. Right now, we’re in the middle of marathon season with many of us gearing up for London, Berlin, Loch Ness and many others besides. It’s all very exciting! But I think it’s worth bearing in mind something we can all occasionally forget, and it’s this: a marathon is a very long way indeed.
When you’re caught up in marathon fever, it’s easy to forget that less than 2% of the UK have actually run a marathon, and that’s mostly because it’s a chuffing long way to run. The other 98% of the population looks at that marathon distance and collectively thinks, you know what, sunshine? I’ll get the bus. A marathon is, and let me make this very clear indeed, 26.2 miles long.
