I was really inspired to leave my watch behind and do an autumn evening run after reading Claire Chamberlain’s feature on The Lost Art of Inner Awareness (December issue). I’ve struggled with chronic fatigue and plantar fasciitis this year, and so have barely done any exercise. I started very slow, walked a lot and only managed two miles. But it was the best thing I did for me all week. I’m now going to try to run again, at least twice a week and use that time to clear my head, take in the beautiful seasons and appreciate how lucky I am to be able to do exercise when I choose to.
