Opossum is a new literary magazine animated by music, published three times a year, with a deluxe annual print edition including a 7” vinyl record of author readings. It pays well for short stories, essays, poems, flash fiction and non-fiction.
Read the manifesto carefully. The editors, Jon Ross and John Edgar, ‘want to encourage work in which the presence of music verges on the subliminal’. Writers must include ‘an accompanying artist’s statement explaining how your work engages the world of music’. Query the editors if you are not sure whether your work is suitable.
