The key options for authors nowadays are often seen as looking for conventional publication or going for self-publication. If you decide to go the conventional route, then there may be more options than you think. Most of the books I have had published were contracted to UK publishers. Translations add to the countries in which I have been re-published as it were, and I have had original publication in Singapore and Thailand.
One option to consider is clearly geographic. It’s interesting that the Subscriber Spotlight pages in this magazine regularly feature people who quote being published overseas; Australia, New Zealand, United States, and South Africa are amongst many countries mentioned. The huge use of English on almost a worldwide basis facilitates this and in addition, the plunging pound (certainly as I write) might increase the value of monies paid.
