Where would you even start if given access to this room?
It has been a burning question for years: when mortality finally catches
up with Bernie Ecclestone (as it must, even for The Bolt), what will happen to his car collection?
This collection has been the Formula 1 version of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory for decades: we all knew it existed, we all knew where it was (stored in a very secure hangar at Biggin Hill airport) and we even knew most of the special cars it contained, but no one was ever invited in, the cars were only rarely glimpsed in public when Bernie deigned to allow it and certainly no one beyond a handful had ever seen them all together in the metal. Until this month.
