THERE’S NO SIMPLE FIX
So why are insurance premiums rising so much? One cause I can tell you from this week.
I was hit gently up the rear in my new electric Mini by a preoccupied driver in traffic, causing a two-inch crack to the rear bumper. The offender said she would like to settle privately, as the damage was apparently small. I made a quick trip to a Mini dealership for a quote: they said £4200, or more than 10% of the list price of the car, for a bit of plastic.
