Come to your sensors
Having read your three most recent Tesla reviews (of a Model Y and two facelifted Model 3s), I feel that you’ve neglected to fully assess the new, ‘improved’ Tesla Vision Park Assist.
Tesla, in its infinite wisdom, has decided that ultrasonic parking sensors are unnecessary and using the camera system is sufficient to judge parking distances. Turns out it’s wrong: Park Assist is woefully awful in anything other than a straightforward parking situation.
I’ve already scuffed my Tesla in a tight supermarket car park, as I find it impossible to rely on the seemingly random series of bongs and waves that the system presents me with.
Tesla has been promising that Tesla Vision will achieve performance parity with the old system for a year now. Believe me, it doesn’t, nor is it likely to.
Potential owners be warned: if you need to park in anything resembling a tricky situation, don’t buy a Tesla.
Now it has removed indicator stalks as well! [You have to tap an icon on the touchscreen instead.] Its obsession with saving costs is ruining the driving experience.
