BEFORE
This 19th century, grade II listed, semi-detached terrace had undergone years of unsympathetic and poorlyexecuted renovations before it was given the love and attention it deserved. Owners the Gallets wanted to create a modern and luxurious space that would suit their family, while being sensitive to the building’s grandeur and history.
They enlisted the expertise of architect Daab Design to rework the home’s plan and renovate the dwelling to suit their high-end taste and elegant style. The home’s interiors had been subjected to poorly designed partitioning in the past and its period beauty was hidden behind layers of inappropriate finishes. To restore and revive the home, which extends through four floors in total, Daab drew some initial inspiration from the property’s monochrome facade and dark ironwork. This lead the team to create something full of contrasts, adding depth and interest to the layout. The property now features bright and dark tones, soft and sharp elements and bags of natural light.
