Focus on:
We catch up with Harvey Fremlin, managing director of the National Self Build & Renovation Centre (NSBRC) about why the venue is such a valuable resource for people tackling a major project
The centre is home to over 240 permanent exhibitors, so homeowners can discuss their project goals with a selection of specialist suppliers
Why is the NSBRC such a valuable resource for both self-builders and those tackling major renovations?
It’s the only permanent venue of its kind in the country, which means people can visit at any time – no matter what stage of their project they’re at. Sometimes our visitors have just had that Eureka moment, whether they’ve got friends who’ve recently completed a scheme or they’ve seen something inspiring in a magazine or on television.
When people arrive at the centre, we usually ask them a few questions to learn more about what type of project they’re taking on, where they’re at with it and if they’ve received planning consent, whether it’s outline or detailed. We get a good picture of who they are and what they’re doing and that helps us to shape their experience when they come to the NSBRC, so we can point out particular areas that might be interesting to them.
