Air-Style VW Magazine

Winter 2025 A warm welcome to Issue 20 of Air-Style VW Magazine As always, the issue is crammed with some amazing VWs from all over the world with something for all tastes. If you are one for history, our cover car, Maes Kristof’s ’52 Beetle, and its story will have you enthralled. If that doesn’t fully satisfy your historical fix, Air-Style’s resident Bus expert David Eccles takes a timely look back at the story of the birth of what was to become a motoring and cultural icon and Richard Copping relives 1979 to 1985 in his ever popular ‘Brochure Line’ series. If you have been thinking about taking a road trip are looking for some inspiration, hear all about Jo and Andy’s trip from Kent to the Outer Hebrides in their VW Jurgens Autovilla motorhome, Gertie. We love a Crew Cab at Air-Style Towers, and Tony’s ’62 Split Crew Cab does not disappoint. Hear how the Bus acquired its name ‘Isme’. It is always good to see classic VWs being used and Darren Claggett and his family do just that with their gorgeous 15-window Samba Bus as you’ll see. BMX has always been a part of the VW scene, and we have a report from the BMX Life’s Santa Cruise II and the amazing work that is done raising money for a very worthwhile charity. Most VW owners love a story of a car coming home, read the story of Dave’s ’66 Notch and you’ll find yourself believing in fairytales. We have another great round-up of life in the low lane from UTA and if you are dreaming of the summer, Aaron Phillip’s ’70 Sidewinder Beach Buggy should hit the spot. All this and lots more is awaiting you in the pages ahead, Enjoy the issue! Spencer, Jon, Sam and Laura

Like many great origin stories - the idea of Air-Style VW Magazine was conceived in a pub. Four like-minded friends knew that they weren't alone in their love for all things Volkswagen. They felt there was a gap in the market for the many that shared their passion, and believed that they could provide a service that speaks to the people in love with the cars, vans, music and lifestyle that makes the VW fandom so unique. Throughout the various pub meetings that followed, the premise grew from a concept into a fully functioning business plan. Their mission was simple… to provide VW enthusiasts with a dedicated publication in which they can learn more about their beloved brand, and share their experiences with other VW devotees.

Fast forward to today, and Air-Style VW Magazine has surpassed expectations. Proud to pair their own passion with fellow VW enthusiasts - Air-Style VW’s success has stemmed from the creators being genuine fans of the brand. Each issue is packed with a combination of car based content and real life stories that educate, inform, and inspire.
