Brownfield sites across England could accommodate almost 1.5m new homes, according to the latest data release from off-market plot specialists Searchland (searchland.co.uk). There are an estimated 26,670 brownfield plots in England, with London, Manchester and the West Midlands home to the largest proportion. According to the Campaign to Protect Rural England, the average brownfield site can hold 53.6 housing units, making the current land enough to facilitate 1.43m new homes.
