Diesel&EcoCar Magazine May 2022 Back Issue

It’s been talked about so long that we didn’t think it would ever happen, but finally Volkswagen’s ID.Buzz has been revealed in production guise, before arriving in Volkswagen showrooms later this year. It’s a modern interpretation of the legendary VW Bus and it’s got a pure electric drivetrain. We’re also got news of Mazda’s new CX-60, including the 3.3-litre V6 straight-six diesel engine that goes into production next year, as well as the Renault Austral, Audi A6 Avant e-tron Concept, Nissan Qashqai e-Power, BMW iX5 Hydrogen and the Maserati Grecale Folgore.

The May 2022 issue of Diesel&EcoCar features a supermini shootout, with Skoda’s new Fabia taking on the sporty SEAT Ibiza. Which one wins? We’ve also driven the new Citroën C5 X, the Tesla Model Y and the Vauxhall Grandland X. Completing the repertoire are first tests of the DS 9 E-Tense 250, the Renault Traffic Passenger 9-seater and the four-wheel drive Skoda Enyaq iV SportLine 80x. We welcome the Hyundai Kona Electric and Mazda CX-5 diesel to the long-term test fleet and wave goodbye to our Volvo V60 Cross Country. Read all about how our testers get on with the eleven cars in the Diesel&EcoCar long-term car park.

In the Tuning and Economy section, we examine a BMW 125d, and guide you through the essential modifications to make it even better. This month’s used car buyer’s guide is all about the Alfa Romeo Giulia, in our newly expanded Buying and Selling section. In fact, the whole magazine has had revisions to the content and design, in addition to the move to the newly truncated Diesel&EcoCar name. We believe that it is now better than ever. There are all your favourites from before the facelift, including The Doctor, Bright Spark, Tech Zone, Legal i, Current Affairs and Gadget Inspector. There’s also the most comprehensive and up-to-date data section in the business, with added content and snippets there, too.

diesel, green cars, electric mag

The UK’s leading magazine for diesel, green cars, electric, hybrids and alternative fuelled vehicles, full of advice on tech, mechanics, future plans. great photos inspiring reviews Reviewed 21 August 2022

I like the way it has evolved over the years

I have been buying it in print and online since the early 2000s and I like that it always has focused on the economy end of motoring, or us cheapskates if you like. It has moved to covering hybrids and electric cars which is good, and hasn't forgotten its roots - diesels.

It's a friendly, down to early mag and Doctor Diesel is still the best bit.
