Dolls House World Magazine Issue 369 Back Issue

English

Only $8.49
When Walt Disney explained: “There’s no magic in magic, it’s all in the detail” I’m pretty sure he was talking about the world of Minnie not mini.
But the sentiment can just as easily be applied to our hobby as you’ll be able to see when you take a tour of the homes inside this issue.
Start with a peep into the kitchen on the front cover. From the handmade floor tiles to the stickers on the cupboard door, the room is full of details that lead you in and start to tell a story. It’s part of a wonderfully inviting home put together by a couple during lockdown and, suspend your disbelief, it was their first doll’s house project.
Be sure to stop off at Julieanne Milne’s beautiful house, and wonder how on earth she fashioned it out of cardboard boxes and egg cartons. And don’t miss a trip to the top of the charming rustic lighthouse. It’s worth the climb.
And if that isn’t enough of a wow factor on the tour, be sure to visit the gorgeous Cotswolds experience. Mikako Nishi toured the picturesque area of England and remembers: “The cluster of beautiful houses, all made from honey-coloured limestone, melted my heart.” You might find your heart melting when you see the house Mikako was inspired to create after her visit, complete with an outside of authentic coloured stone and rooms you’d want to live in tomorrow.
Mikako told us: “I think that people can see the amount of time you put into something while viewing the finished product. And this is what makes them fall in love with your work.” I think Walt would agree with that.
Enjoy the tour through our magic kingdom of miniatures.
