East Kilbride History Society, in association with South Lanarkshire Council Bereavement Services, is seeking to identify individual men and women who died in armed service between the years 1922 and 1939 and who, at the time, also resided in Glasgow and Lanarkshire, in order that their names can be added to local memorials.
The council and society are seeking information on Scottish military service personnel who died in military service between 31 December 1921 and 31 December 1939. These will have been women and men who served in Scottish regiments or other army regiments and corps, as well as Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Royal Fleet Auxiliary, Royal Navy Reserve, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve, Royal Marine Reserve, Royal Air Force Reserve, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve and Military Nursing Services, QARANC, QARNN, RAF Nursing Services, Territorial Army Civilians in military employment and NAAFI, whether the demise was in the UK or overseas.
