Heads Have Got To Rock’N’Roll
EDGED CIRCLE
Classic metal Manna from the mist-laden hills of Bergen
Magick Touch are clearly laying out their stall with a title like that. And yes, album number three is definitely out to make you both rock, and indeed roll. The Bergen power trio have their sights set on the sweet spot in the late 70s and early 80s when heavy rock and metal were still one, with big riffs and bigger choruses. Bad Decisions comes on like Thin Lizzy jamming with Judas Priest in a backstreet dive, whilst Daggers Dance boasts slick vocals hooks that would stand proud on a Triumph LP. Doomsday I’m In Love brings a touch of Candle-mass, whilst To The Limit is an all-out, fist-banging 80s anthem crying out for big hair and a video full of slow-motion unison leaps. Unashamedly catchy, this is a more elegant heavy metal, for a more civilised age.
