A 42-YEAR-OLD man died near Oban on New Year’s day following a quad bike accident. Police Scotland confirmed the news, with a spokesperson saying that there was a road crash at Lerags at 8.40pm and a report into the circumstances has been sent to the procurator fiscal. Four people have also been injured in a ‘serious’ road crash near Cladich, by Dalmally.
The accident happened at around 2pm on Saturday December 30 when a 48-year-old man driving a Vauxhall Astra collided with another vehicle. The driver of the Astra was taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, where he is receiving treatment, but is said to be in a stable condition.
A 16-year-old passenger was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he is being treated. Hospital staff describe his condition as serious.
