In last week’s print edition article previewing this month’s Real 3 Peaks Challenge to clean litter from Ben Nevis and other UK mountains, we incorrectly stated event organiser Rich Pyne, of Kinlochleven-based firm Rich Mountain Experiences, was a mountaineering instructor.
We have been asked to clarify that Mr Pyne is not a mountaineering instructor. He is a hillwalking guide and mountain skills instructor, as well as an outdoor activity business owner.
His mountain qualifications are Winter Mountain Leader (for leading hill walking parties in the UK, year round) and Rock Climbing Instructor for taking groups on single pitch crags. He is also registered as a Hill and Mountain Skills Tutor, teaching hillwalking skills such as navigation.
