THINK LIKE A PRO: SHOOT SMARTER
How would you define a professional photographer? In simplistic terms it’s anyone who makes the majority of their living from taking photographs. But financial concerns alone are a poor yardstick with which to measure the gulf between the amateur and the pro. Being a professional photographer is essentially a state of mind. It can be easy or difficult to achieve the status and, depending on the particular field in which the pro works, the rewards can be meagre or vast, but one thing they will all have in common is a dedication to their art that is all-consuming. But what is the relevance of this to an unashamedly hobbyist magazine like Practical Photography, and, most importantly, what can you learn from them to help improve your own work?
