SINGER AND SONGWRITER Louise Patricia Crane brings her listeners a unique blend of romantic escapism and alternative rock. Her sound encapsulates a variety of inspirations, from 70s music to the visual arts, and immerses the listener in a dreamlike space.
Speaking about her early interest in music, Crane mentions artists such as Kate Bush, Sweet and Queen. She suggests it was this music that directed her own sound but admits that her operatic training must have played some part. “I think my initial training made me mindful,” Crane muses. “One thing my teacher really taught was the use of the diaphragm - how to look after the voice and really access that part of your body.”
Although Crane has been involved with several underground bands, including dark prog rockers The Eden House, singing and writing her own music was her calling. She explains that it’s always been a need for artistic expression that couldn’t be brought to light among other musicians.
