THE current roadmap out of lockdown has revived hopes that model shows will be able to resume across the UK this year.
The latest Government guidelines for England indicate that by May indoor entertainment venues will reopen, and by June 21 all restrictions on contact could be lifted. Even though shows may be able to go ahead, many will be run with restrictions, or at later dates.
One show that has been announced is the National Garden Railway Show scheduled for June 26. (For details please see the advert on page 94.) As with all shows and events though, we need to be aware it is an evolving situation and for latest news keep reading The Railway Magazine, our online platforms and events’ own websites.
The Covid-19 pandemic has seen the model railway industry achieve excellent sales as people have taken up, or spent more time on, their hobbies. But one perennial problem faced by the industry is how to capture a younger audience.
