ONE passenger suffered minor injuries when the 15.51 Liverpool Lime Street to Norwich service was derailed after hitting a fallen tree while passing through Thetford Forest at about 21.15 on February 7.
The injured passenger was treated at the scene between Thetford and Harling Road. The 31 passengers were taken forward by coach to Norwich station, arriving at 01.00.
The windows on the front of East Midlands Railway Class 158 No. 158856 were smashed and there was further damage to the lead vehicle. Services between Ely and Norwich were suspended on February 8 as a result of the incident.
