Rugby League World

510 With an uptick in the overall attendance, and a relatively new name on the trophy following Hull KR’s first Challenge Cup triumph since 1980, there was plenty to feel upbeat about after Wembley this year. In addition, we saw Wigan Warriors claim their first Women’s Challenge Cup in style, and York Knights pip Featherstone Rovers to the 1895 Cup in golden point extra time. Not forgetting the Champion Schools final where Rainford High, of St Helens, and Sirius Academy, of Hull battled it out. We have pictures and reaction from all the games. The Wheelchair Challenge Cup final took place shortly after Wembley weekend, and as well as coverage from that clash between London Roosters and Halifax Panthers, RLW editor Lorraine Marsden shares her thoughts on how it could be included as part of rugby league’s annual pilgrimage to the capital in future. A familiar face from television and these days rugby league too was at Wembley handing out the trophies, and we caught up with RFL President Adam Hills to talk about how he views his role in the sport and, as an Australian, whether he will be cheering on England or the Kangaroos in the long-awaited Test Series later this year. We’ve also got Konrad Hurrell facing 20 quickfire questions, a look back to the arrival of a new name in the game in 1975, and our regular international coverage. Plus, we have a very special image of the month where rugby league’s first ever Knight, Sir Billy Boston, receives his honour from King Charles at Buckingham Palace. Download your copy now!
