Scramble Magazine  |  425 - October 2014
This month's edition features specials about:
- The EC725 Caracal
The French Air Force EC725s are assigned to Escadron
d’Hélicoptères EH01.067, the only Combat Search And
Rescue (CSAR) squadron of the Armée de l’Air (AdlA).
Jan Kraak flew with the unit and reports from Cazaux.
- Hawgsmoke 2014
Since 2000, the USAF organises the biennial “Hawgsmoke”
competition, where United States Air Force A-10 units gather
to compete with each other in bombing, strafing and tactical
planning. As the 357th FS “Dragons” had won the last edition
in 2012 at Davis-Monthan AFB (AZ) they were tasked with
organising the 2014 event (again at Davis-Monthan AFB). In
the 2014 edition, fourteen teams participated in the exercise
that might have been the last of its kind as the A-10 is slated
for withdrawal from the US Air Force.
