SUPPORT ACTS Part 1
WE ‘VE TRIED SIX SPORTS BRAS IN DIFFERENT STYLES, SUITAB E FOR CUP SIZES A-C, TO HELP YOU FIND YOUR NEW FAVOURITE
WORDS: JENNIFER BOZON & ELIZABETH HUFTON
After decent running shoes, there’s one piece of kit that’s absolutely essential for female runners: the sports bra. Whether you’re a 32A or a 40FF, you’ll need some kind of support as you run. There are so many styles of sports bra on offer, with different features needed (and available) depending on your size, that we’ve split our sports bra test in two. This issue we’ve tested sports bras for smaller boobs – up to a C cup – and, in our November issue, we’ll look at the best bras for D and upwards.
What to look for
Style
Smaller-busted women still need plenty of support, but you have a bit more freedom about the style of bra you wear. A and B cups should be able to run comfortably in a crop-top style bra – although be aware that they’re not always easy to wrestle off when they’re sweaty!
Seams
For complete comfort, especially if you’re upping your distance, go for seam-free, soft inner cups.
Shoulder straps
Look for soft shoulder straps that won’t rub when you run. Some bras offer adjustable shoulder straps for a real custom fit.
