The Caribbean is bursting with rums waiting to be sampled. In addition to the four island’s already mentioned, there’s a whole host of others on interCaribbean’s network to enjoy. And don’t forget to go on a distillery tour or two and take some sampling notes along the way…
Antigua & Barbuda Dating back to 1929, Antigua Distilleries produces both Cavalier and the multi gold award-winning English Harbour rums. Only 600 bottles of the 1981 Vintage English Harbour are released each year (the last release was in 2018).
The rum was distilled to commemorate the nation’s independence from the UK in 1981.
This liquid gold is aged in whiskey and bourbon barrels for 25 years.
British Virgin Islands Callwood Rum Distillery dates back to the 1600s and is still owned by the family who named it in the late 19th century.
Its site is a walk back in history too, with the original copper boiling pots still being used. Callwood produces white, dark and aged rum and a rum liqueur. Best of all you can buy small trial samples for just US$1.
