Teenager jailed for failing to comply with court orders

A GIRL was sent to prison for four months after an assault and repeatedly failing to turn up at court. Courtney Cairns, 18, of Flat 101, 14 Longrow South, Campbeltown, had pleaded guilty to an assault charge relating to an incident on December 23, 2014.

Her appearance on Thursday related to that charge and a further charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner at her home address on April 15, this year, which she pleaded gulity Prior to sentencing, on the first charge, Cairns had been ordered to attend meetings with social workers but had failed to go and consequently failed to appear at court.
