The ninth Historic Sportscar Racing Classic Daytona 24 in Florida on 4-5 November featured seven grids of racers (groups A-G) competing in succession for the full 24 hours. The big winner was Iconic Racing, with drivers Gérard Lopez and triple Le Mans victor Marcel Fässler taking overall honours in groups A (pre-1972) and F (current prototype/GT), driving a 1969 Lola T70 MkIIIB (left) and a 2019 Cadillac DPi-V.R respectively.
In the former, the tough competition included Adrian Newey and Jim Farley, who took Neweyʼs 1965 Ford GT40 Mk1 to third. Among the other winners was Lars Erik Nielsen in his 1990 Porsche 962C, who came back from a puncture to secure group C spoils, and Mike and Andrew Jordan in group D (2003 Porsche 996 GT3 Supercup).
