Classic Bus  |  Apr/May 2021 (172)
We’re off climbing up the hill to Crystal Palace on a great British bus route, or rather a great British trolleybus route and, staying in London on six wheels, we take a brief look at the LT-class. We’re also looking at Albion Nimbus buses again, this time in South Yorkshire.
Midland Red bought 100 Ford buses in the 1970s - why? Our delve into The Bus Archive gives the answer. Who remebers when Brotherhood of Man won the Eurovision Song Contest? Martin Curtis does, as it was the day he went to explore the Leicester City bus scene.
To celebrate International Women’s Day, we have a page about some of the girls who worked at Poole in the 1950s. Chris Drew was selling ice creams in Cornwall…in between photographing buses, of course. We have Bristols being delivered to York-West Yorkshire, Leyland Royal Tigers that weren’t at all and compare more Northern Counties double-deck bus bodies. Plus there’s our popular, lively and well-illustrated Forum section with topics ranging far and wide, and a look at some new books.
