With City Of Love, their latest album since 2012’s comeback, going Top Five in the UK and peaking at No.1 in their homeland, consolidating their position as yet another of Scotland’s great 80s survivors, Deacon Blue must have felt pretty smug as spring approached this year. Still, as we know, viruses come and tours go, so, to ride that tide of success the band instead embraced 2020’s first lockdown, finishing three songs that had failed to make the cut last time round and recording five new ones.
