HIGH TIMES: SINGLES 1992-2006

★★★★
The long-overdue arrival of this 20-track comp on vinyl makes a watertight case for The Cat In The Hat’s band being one of the most consistent singles acts of the 90s and beyond. Morphing from socially conscious Acid Jazzers (When You Gonna Learn?, Too Young To Die) through to Daft Punk-influencing disco revivalists (Cosmic Girl, Alright) the strike-rate here is impeccable. And all these years on, the subterranean bass of Deeper Underground and Feels Just Like It Should still sound chest-rattlingly vibrant.
