VANGELIS
JUNO TO JUPITER
DECCA
★★★★
Vangelis’ latest, which provides a cinematic accompaniment to NASA’s ongoing mission to explore the planet of Jupiter 365 million miles away, finds him returning to the grand, futuristic sounds that made his 1982 Blade Runner soundtrack so beloved. With its arpeggiated bleeps, horn-y synths, grand piano runs and kettle drums, Out In Space in fact sounds like it belongs on that record, while the kaleidoscopic Jupiter’s Intuition is full of wonder and the dramatic Zeus Almighty would surely catch Gustav Holst’s ear. Ideal for late nights spent stargazing.
