Centre yourself in video meetings
Run a club or society? Here's how your tech can make it easier
When your club has video meetings, you’ll be seen more clearly and understood better if you’re positioned in the middle of everyone’s screen. It means they’ll get a better view of your facial expressions and physical gestures, which often get lost in virtual meetings.
Google introduced automatic centring in its Meet video-chat tool in 2022, but only for customers of its business-focused Workplace packages (from £5 per user per month: www.snipca. com/53095). In November, it made this feature part of the free version of Meet, meaning anyone can use it (see www. snipca.com/53094).
