Aside from the occasional ‘like’, birthday wish and someone tagging me in a photo before I could stop them, it’s been more than five years since I last posted anything on Facebook. My profile picture dates back to 2017 and several of my ‘friends’ are either estranged or sadly deceased.

I’m not telling you this because I’m too cool for Facebook, and now hang out on TikTok, Discord or Bod, or whatever the ‘in’ thing is these days, but because I can’t bring myself to delete or deactivate my account. A bit like EastEnders, Facebook is something I’m no longer interested in, but occasionally have a peek at to see what people are up to.
