As a tech writer it’s my job to know what the best tools are, so I’m always suspicious when an app I’ve never heard of suddenly becomes popular on Google’s Play Store. ‘PDF Viewer & Scanner’ (www.snipca. com/53617) had gone from nowhere to the top spot on the ‘Free tools’ chart (see screenshot 1 ), boasting over 10 million downloads, a 4.3-star average rating and gushing reviews like “I am so glad this app was made”.
