HOW TO...
Get fit with the NHS apps
What you need: NHS Active 10 app; NHS ‘Couch to 5K’ app Time required: A lifetime by Nik Rawlinson
We can all do more to stay healthy: drink less alcohol, eat less processed food and make time for regular exercise. The trouble is, however good your intentions might be at the outset, it’s very easy to lose interest – and motivation – as time passes.
One way to avoid falling off the fitness bandwagon is to do it with friends or part of a group. That’s why slimming clubs and gym classes are so popular. But these cost money and don’t always take place at convenient times, and not everyone wants to be quite so public about their efforts to stay fit and shift a few pounds.
Thankfully, there is a wide range of get-fit apps to help us keep on the straight and narrow. A couple of the best come from the NHS (Active 10 and ‘Couch to 5K’) and are free to download and use for as long as you need them.
