Should I replace my seven-year-old hard drive?
Q I bought a 2TB Seagate external hard drive about seven years ago. It still works well, but 2018 seems a long time ago in computer terms, so I’m wondering if I should update to an SSD? Many thanks for all the tips and recommendations!

A That depends on what you use it for and which problem, if any, you’re trying to solve.
For weekly backups, say, a 2TB hard drive is as useful now as it was seven years ago. The task may take longer than it would using an SSD, but backups tend to run in the background, so does it really matter?
