“Keep your backstitching smooth"
“Backstitch is used to define the quirky bespoke letters used in my designs and I find that beginning the backstitch with a shorter length of thread, measuring approximately 35cm long, helps to avoid the thread getting knotted as you stitch. I’m constantly unwinding the thread in my needle so that it’s not twisted to ensure a smooth line back and forth into the fabric. The quality of the thread keeps better too, as there is less wear on the thread.”
