Over the years, Wolf Horst Röhl, who died in 2005, amassed an impressive collection of 17th and 18th century Dutch and German cut glass. He had trained as a theoretical physicist, but later worked as a patent lawyer and also followed a career as an artist. His true passion was glass.
For the best part of the last year, the collection was on show at the Glass Museum in Duesseldorf. On October 24, collectors and dealers will have a chance to purchase one of his prize pieces at the Dr Fischer sale in Heilbronn.
