We’ve also had recent interest in various aspects about Southdown’s so-called Queen Mary double deckers. Peter Snowden looks at the variety of other Queen Mary-type bodies built by Northern Counties.

40 years ago heads were put together to make bus operation in and around Maidstone more efficient. Like Radio 4’s The Reunion, those involved recall what it was like. And with the Leyland National having first appeared 50 years ago this year, David Pike re-assesses the type and recalls what it was like to drive.
