YANN TIERSEN 11 5 18 2 5 18

Provoked by Superbooth, Berlin’s electronic instrument tradeshow, Tiersen here inventively cannibalises 2021’s Kerber, on which he returned to the piano of 2001’s Amélie soundtrack. This, in other words, is a synth set, with its almost 12-minute opener 11 5 18 2 5 18 and the more concise 16 1 12 5 19 20 9 14 5 lumbering towards the dancefloor. 11 5 18 12 1 14 14’s more atmospheric, though, while the closing 13 1 18 25 (6 5 1 20. 17 21 9 14 17 21 9 19) is graced by his wife Émilie Quinquis’ ghostly vocals.
